Change the World

18 06 2009

It’s time to change the way we think about our bodies. It’s time to change the way women look at each other and themselves. It’s time to stop putting ourselves down…and time to start pulling each other up.

We’re women, we’re strong, we’re beautiful, we give life!

We need to embrace ourselves…because the fat talk is ruining our lives…whether it be emotionally, mentally, physically or professionally.

Here’s how we start. Stop the “fat talk”. Start focusing on our strength, beauty of mind and soul, and the things we have accomplished as amazing women.

People always say, be the change you want to see in the world…I want to start. Join me…on ProjectBodyBeautiful.

*Stop comparing yourself to other women…every woman has a perfect shape and size.

*Stop criticizing yourself. Start focusing on your accomplishments: your intellect, your spirit, your love of life, your compassion, your humor, your strength.

*Start acknowledging positive qualities in other women. We need to stop tearing each other down and starting pulling each other up with kind words and actions.

*Take it one day at a time…remember that change is a process. Start with one small goal a day, like correcting yourself when you look in the mirror and instead of saying “I look fat”, say something positive to yourself.

Here’s a video that makes me cry…but inspires me every time. As a woman who is recovering from ED (ana and mia), I think it is really important for women to stop tearing themselves down in the name of thin, and time to start a change.
